Got a great idea? Join the Napkin Club!

Entrepreneurship Post from the Texas Startup Blog!

Nick Douglas got an email from Eric who had a “new idea that can revolutionize…yadda, yadda..”, but he would not share the actual idea with Nick.  Nick decided to explain how much an idea is worth.  We spent the last year talking to people with ideas, only a few of them were entrepreneurs.  Most people don’t realize how hard it is getting your idea off of the cocktail napkin and into production.  Nick summarizes, “the sad truth: Ideas are worth zilch.”

Just to demonstrate, I had a little idea the other day over lunch and detailed it on a cocktail napkin.  Over the next few days I will start detailing the steps we take to get that idea off of the napkin and into production.  The sad truth is: we are almost guaranteed to fail!  We will use ‘napkin’ as the tag, you can click here to find them.
